Join us as photojournalist veterans José Moré and Charles Osgood, and attorney David Gulbransen lecture on the finer points of capturing public events, protests, etc.  They’ll discuss photographer’s and individual’s rights in the digital, instant upload, age and new and old laws regulating photographing the person in the street, police, and protests.

APRIL’S WINE & CRITIQUE – Friday April 20

Our next Wine & Critique will be on Friday, April 20, 2012!

Enjoy a night of laughter, wine and critiques with a group of your peers. You can kick back with a Chianti or ponder photography with a Pinot.

Bring your digital files, prints and/or portfolios and take part in an event that’s picture perfect!

Please bring a bottle of wine to share.  Not 21 or don’t drink wine?

Soda, juice, snacks or chips & dip are also welcome.

Every third Friday of the month from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

*Special Announcement* – April’s Wine & Critique will be followed by the annual POYi Education & Awards Program.  The opening will be at the Chicago Photography Center with an evening reception and Premier Winner presentation.  This two-day event serves POYi’s educational mission and promoting the work of photojournalists.  The program is free and everyone is welcome to attend.  For more information please visit http://www.poyi.org/

WINE & CRITIQUE PHOTO CONTEST

March’s Wine & Critique was a huge success, with over 20 participants.

We received many entries for the photo contest.  Submissions were adjudicated by Warren Perlstein and Dave Rentauskas. Perlstein is a commercial photographer, CPC Board Member and CPC instructor. Rentauskas is an editorial and commercial photographer as well as a CPC instructor.

 

Drum roll please….. and the winner is: Karen Janas. Runner up is Kent Bamberger.  Congratulations to you both!

CPC Rummage Sale – Saturday May 5th

            

 

 

 

 

Join us Saturday May 5th from noon to 4pm!  We’ve done some spring cleaning and unearthed some rummage sale treasures.  Come peruse our goodies from photographs to equipment, and other assorted and sundry items (not necessarily photography related).

If you have items you’d like to donate to our sale, we’ll gladly accept them.  This would be tax deductible for you, and of benefit to our various outreach programs.   Please contact us at info@chicagophoto.org for more information and to let us know you’d like to donate.  Please deliver donated items no later than Wednesday May 2nd.
