Skye Enyeart began as an instructor at CPC earlier this year, and is teaching a seven -week course called Creative Concepts of Photography. Skye's work (which can be seen in her current exhibition 'Animatarianism Housing" at The Darkroom) incorporates some of the techniques that are taught in her classes at CPC. Skye believes that, "the framing of artwork can be just as important as the image and both should complement each other."
Her work consists of photographs that have been transferred with
different techniques onto appliance doors. These doors Skye says,
"are intended to imply 'home' and mirror the mechanics of the
created creatures." This multi-disciplinary use of photographic
images is prominent throughout Skye's work. She reminds us that
photography doesn't have to be only a pristine print, but that
there are endless possibilities when it comes to presenting a
series of images.
Skye has a B.A from Purdue in International Relations, and a M.A
from Columbia College Chicago. She has also studied at
universities in Pairs, France, including: IES, the Sorbonne, The
School of the Louvre and SpÉos Photography. Skye is a firm
believer in self-expression and is a visual artist who started in
photography and has since increased her interests to a variety of
media including installation, metalwork, and textiles. Her goal
is to create humanitarian photo documentaries.
