Volunteer

Like many not-for-profit organizations, CPC has always relied on the generosity, dedication and strength of volunteers who choose to share their time and talents with us. CPC volunteers helped identify our current facility and build out the space from scratch to suit the needs of a photography center. Volunteers participate in many of our classes, offering hands-on assistance to new students who are learning about their cameras and camera settings. Our volunteers lead Photo I digital labs and darkroom sessions, offering guidance, support and feedback to our students. Some of our volunteers have progressed to the point that they have their own professional photography businesses and are now members of our teaching staff. Volunteers staff our events, keep the facility looking its best and lead the organization through participation in our Board of Directors.

Volunteers are an integral part of everything we do.

There are a number of ways you can help!

  • Administration : Office work including filing, stuffing envelopes, and data entry.
  • Angels” : Help welcome and orient new students on the first night of every new session.
  • Maintenance : Painters, carpenters and general handymen are often needed.
  • Gallery : Assist with hanging, taking down, and storing exhibits.
  • Marketing : Distribute posters and post cards to coffee shops, schools, art supply stores, other galleries and gathering spots.
  • Special Events : Help with setup, clean-up or oversee refreshments / bar at gallery or fundraising events.
  • Lab Volunteer : Computer savvy? Help students with using the computers and printing.
  • Darkroom Volunteer : Help keep the darkroom clean and organized.
  • Outreach Programs : Help us share photography with clients of social services organizations.
