Free Camera Cleanings
Need your camera cleaned? Students and members are welcome to bring in their cameras for a free check-up every Saturday afternoon from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm (During Digital Bootcamps). Saul Fox of Excellent Camera Repair will inspect light baffle, shutter speeds, lens aperture, etc… and will clean all exposed surfaces. Saul is a knowledgeable professional with many years of experience and has worked on all kinds of film, digital and video cameras. This is a $60-100 value!
** Note: Cameras will not be disassembled for free cleanings.
Saul has a drop-off box at CPC for all of your camera repairs, OR you can make arrangements with him directly!

Free Basic Camera Workshop
If you have a new single lens reflex (SLR) camera (or a camera with an interchangeable lens), need a refresher, or have never attended a photography class, you should consider this free workshop. You will learn basic SLR camera operation, an overview of your camera controls, and use of your camera’s exposure meter. Be sure to bring your camera as well as your camera manual, if you have it.
The workshop is a great introduction to CPC and might even inspire you to sign up for one of our other classes!

Capturing Beauty Around Chicago

A free preview of the more in-depth 5-week class, Capturing Beauty With Your Camera, time-honored tips for improving your “camera eye.” All digital cameras welcome!
FREE Digital Printing Refresher
This workshop is for new or returning students who are taking one of the advanced classes at CPC this session, and who will need to print some materials for this class. We will review basic use of Adobe Lightroom for photo editing and printing, and the use of the Epson 3800 printers available at CPC.
Please bring some images (5 will do) to work with in the lab, preferably in RAW format. These can be on a memory stick, memory card, CD, etc.
Class size is limited to 13 students.
** Note: This workshop is only available to students taking an advanced class during the current session.
